Music Reviews:
Is isn’t an uncommon thing for the Christian side of country musicians to shine through in their music, and for El Paso native Clay Dustin, he makes it perfectly clear that he wanted to showcase that side with his new release The Good Lord Loves You.  Pulling you into the album is the two-steppin’ flavored “Don’t Miss Heaven” and you are instantly introduced to Dustin’s texas branded honky-tonk style and lyrics based in his Christian beliefs.  As you dig through the album you continue to see this side of him well on display both musically and lyrically on cuts like “I’ll Fly Away”.  “The Devil Scared The Hell Out of Me”, and album closer “We Will All Be Together Again”.  He does take the time to deliver his message wrapped around more of a ballad type song as well with tracks like “There Is Another World” and “You Only Live Twice”, and his current single “The Good Lord Loves You” where he challenges people to understand that the lord loves everyone no matter what situation they may be in.  Though the lyrical content focuses on his spirituality and Christina sides, his music is a threwback to yesterday’s brand of Texas country ala George Strait.  Clay Dustin will easily find success within’ the Christian/Country market because there is no doubt that his lyrics tough on the subject he is trying to hit with relative ease while his honky-tonk Texas branded country is a sure fire way to get people out on the saloon floors and get their boot heels clicking while wrapped around a positive message.
