Think Pink night at the Rodeo

Each year, the RRA sponsors a Think Pink night at the annual rodeo. Held in conjunction with the Wrangler Tough Enough to Wear Pink program and with community support, over 10,000 dollars has been raised and given to the Brest Cancer Society in Redding.

At the 1st Annual Cowboy Up fund raising event, held in October 2010, over 6,000 was raised for the NorCal Think Pink Association. The event was an evening of good food and fun to raise money for the local Think Pink association. Thanks to the community support it was a very successful event.

A note from Frank Silva, President Redding Rodeo…

Welcome Redding Rodeo fans to the upcoming 63rd Redding Rodeo.

I would like to thank all you rodeo fans and sponsors for making our 62nd Redding Rodeo a very successful rodeo. Our 63rd Redding Rodeo will be as good as, if not better than last years. A special thanks to our Board of Directors, our committee people, our members, the Redding Womens Rodeo Association, Redding Junior Rodeo Association and our Redding Rodeo Auxiliary Association for all of the hard work they did to put on a great rodeo for our fans of rodeo.

So I would like to see our 63rd Redding Rodeo a celebration of the foundation of our western heritage and a time from our past when the challenge of everyday life led to the creation of rodeo Americas Oldest Sport.

When Rodeo Week comes in May, come join us for the best steak dinner under the stars. Come and watch on Special Kids Day and see how these kids live a dream for the day being a cowboy or cowgirl. Our Mutton Bustin and Kids Heritage Day are both becoming very popular. It is also good to see the kids live the dream of our western heritage. So remember being a cowboy or cowgirl is an attitude, not an outfit and if this May rodeo you want to be one, youll be in good company.

See you at Rodeo on May 19, 20, 21, 2011

Frank Silva,
President Redding Rodeo
